ROS POLICIES


 CHOREOGRAPHY-COPYRIGHT( ARTISTIC RIGHTS): No persons shall perform any ROS dance choreography without prior permission from director.  Kristine Bremer.

HOW TO REGISTER

Come into the studio to register. ROS staff will go over all policies and answer any questions that you may have.  08 Registration is Monday August 4th & 11th 9am-noon & 5-8PM.

DANCER CHECK IN

All dancers need to check in at the front desk for each dance class. Any fees needing to be paid will have to paid before taking class. One week prior to the start of each dance session, the dance parent needs to physically come into the studio to check in their child and make sure all dance fees are paid.

CLASS ATTENDANCE

Regular attendance is required to ensure proper development.  Dancers who continually miss class will either loose their spot in their class or be placed in the Dance Blast program.  Please call the studio if you will or have missed class.  You make take another class during the week to make up for the absence.   If only one or two students show up for class, the class is 30 minutes long.

 

CLASS PLACEMENT

ROS reserves the right to determine the proper dance level and class for each student. A student or parent may contradict the philosophy of our program, therefore ROS reserves the right to accept or deny and one into the dance program or/and studio.

 

 CLASS REQUIREMENTS

All classes meet once per week. Ballet Level 4-6 & Pointe dancers are required to take two ballet classes per week.

 

DRESS CODE

ALL DANCERS: No t-shirts or baggy clothes. HAIR: must be put into a bun or braided off the neck and out of the face. Dancers will not be allowed to participate if they arrive without a leotard or if their hair is down. NO body piercing or tattos: as they are distracting to the educational environment.

PRESCHOOL & COMBO CLASSES (AGES 3-8YS):  Any color leotard and dance tights. Dance skirt or dance shorts allowed. No pants.

ADULT CLASS:Any color leotard, tights. Capri or yoga pants. (pants must NOT touch the floor- for safety reasons) Skirt or dance shorts.

TAP & JAZZ CLASSES: (ages 9+)Any color leotard, capri top, or body fitting camisole top. Capri pants, shorts.

BALLET LEVEL 1:  Black or pink leotard. Pink, white or tan tights.

BALLET LEVEL 2:  Any shade purple/lilac. Pink, white or tan tights.

BALLET LEVEL 3: Any shade blue leotard. Pink, white or tan tights.

BALLET LEVEL 4:  Burgandy or black leotard. Any color tights.

BALLET LEVEL 5-6:  Any color leotard and tights.

BALLET CLASSES (AGES 9+):  NO PANTS. Ballet skirt or shorts.

BALLET SHOES: Split sole or full sole leather ballet shoe. No Isotoner slippers allowed.

JAZZ SHOES:  slip on jazz shoe or tie jazz shoe

TAP SHOES:  patenleather for children, slip on jazz taps for ages 9+.

All dancers must have on proper dance apparel and shoes in order to take class. Those dancers arriving without proper dance clothes or shoes will not be able to take class and no credits or refunds for that class will be given because you were unprepared.

STUDENT APPRENTICESHIP

Dancers in Grades 6-College who wish to gain experience and leadership qualities by assisting with dance classes may contact the director.

 

SCHOLARSHIPS

ROS offers a limited number of partial work study scholarships. Please contact the studio for more information or to be considered.

 

HOW TO PAY

Make checks payable to: ROS and mail to the studio or drop off and place in payment box at the studio. Dancers with past due accounts will not be allowed in their dance class and credits will not be given because a student sat out. Dance Fees are expected by the 1st lesson of the Session (for that Session for both the Dance Soul and Dance Blast Programs). Monthly Payments are expected at the first of each month. ROS accepts cash, checks & credit cards. All fees subject to change.

NO REFUNDS: under no circumstances will refunds be issued for any tuition, costumes, recital or registration fees paid or recital tickets purchased.

You will be charged for the entire Session if you fail to notify the studio in writing of any class dropped.

  • Sunday, August 4th 2008: Ne Junior Miss Pageant Performance 2PM @ GHS
  • 2008: AUGUST 4TH & 11TH: REGISTRATION/OPEN HOUSE @ STUDIO 10AM-NOON & 5-8PM
  • MONDAY AUGUST 25TH: FIRST DAY OF CLASSES 08-09 SEASON
  • MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1: LABOR DAY:  NO CLASSES
  • NOVEMBER 26-DECEMBER 2: THANKSGIVING BREAK: NO CLASSES
  • DECEMBER 22-JANUARY 9TH: CHRISTMAS BREAK: NO CLASSES
  • APRIL 9-14TH: EASTER BREAK: NO CLASSES
  • MAY 25: MEMORIAL DAY: NO CLASSES
  • FRIDAY, JUNE 12TH: DRESS REHEARSAL (ea class given 90 minute time to come)
  • SATURDAY, JUNE 13TH:DANCE PROGRAM: 6PM
  • JUNE 15TH: SUMMER 09 CLASSES BEGIN

 

 

ABSENCES/MAKEUPS There are no credits for missed classes during the session. You may take additional classes during the week to make up. Please call the studio if you will/have missed class. Dancers who continually miss class will be put into the Dance Blast Program or may loose their spot to someone on the waiting list. ROS will assume your child has quit if they miss 2x without notifying the studio. Dancers should arrive no more than 10 minutes before class. Children cannot leave the studio without an adult.

STUDIO ETTIQUETTE Lobby area is quiet at all times. In order to provide a positive learning environment for the dance class in progress, please NO siblings in lobby during classes.  Parents are welcome to view the class via the TV monitor in the waiting room. Only ROS teachers will escort the dancers into the dance room. No one is allowed in the dance room without a teacher. No gum or jewelry in class. Studio bathroom is reserved for dancers who are immediately taking class. All others, please use the mall restroom located 2 doors down from the studio.

WEATHER The dance studio will close when Gretna Schools cancel due to bad weather only. Makeup day and times will be posted at the studio and each makeup class will be 30 minutes long. In the event of a tornado, all persons will proceed to the mall restrooms two doors past the studio.
