ROS CURRICULUM
ROS offers two dance programs.
The DANCE SOUL program is a 10 month technique program geared for the recreational student ages 3-18 and adults where regular attendance is required to ensure proper development. Dancers enrolled in this program can participate in all of the dance productions and extra performances.This is our regular program designed for the average student who is a recreational dancer. The dance year runs September 8, 2009-June 12, 2010. All classes are offered in this program except POINTE. All parents will be required to sign ROS RELEASE & REGISTRATION FORM.
The SPIRIT program is a 10 month technique program geared for the more serious student ages 7-18. This is a specialized certification program that is taught by the Director and guest professional teachers. Admission into this program is by interview & audition. Commitment, attitude, character & technique are four requirements needed to be accepted into this program. Dancers need not have exceptional technique, only exceptional interest & attitude. A member from the ROS Examination Board will conduct the interview with the student and the director, student and parent will meet to discuss the student's needs and goals for the upcoming year. The parent of the dancer accepted into this program & the dancer will be required to sign a contract of Committment and Attendance & ROS RELEASE & REGISTRATION FORM.

DANCE CLASSES
ROS offers classes in creative movement, tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, irish, hip hop, cheer, boy's class & conditioning class.
- PRESCHOOL: 45 minute class of tap and ballet. Tap & ballet shoes needed.
- COMBO AGES 5-8 45 minute class of tap and ballet. Tap & Ballet shoes needed.
- TAP: AGES 9-18: 30/45/60 minute technique classes offered for dancers in Level's 1-6. (Beginning-advanced)
- BALLET: AGES 7-18: 45/60 minute technique classes offered for dancers in Level's 1-6. Barre, Center & across the floor. (Beginning -advanced)
- JAZZ: AGES 5-8ys/9-12ys/13-18ys): 30/45/60 minute technique classes offered for dancers in Level's 1-6 (Beginning -advanced)
- ADULT CLASSES: Seperate technique classes of tap, ballet and jazz are offered to adults, beginning-advanced levels.
- IRISH: 45/60 minute technique class for dancers ages 9+. Both soft shoe & hard shoe are taught
- HIP HOP: 45/ 60 minute classes offered for dancers ages 5-8, 9-12 & 13+.
- POINTE: 30/45/60 minute technique classes for intermediate- advanced ballet students. This class offered in SPIRIT program by invitation only.
- MIDDLE EASTERN DANCE: This 45/6/90 min class is for both children & adults. Come learn authentic Middle Eastern Dance Forms. Great exercise and lots of fun.
- MOMMY & ME: 30 minute pre-dance class designed for children 2.5-3years old. Ballet shoes only.
- CHEER: 45/60 minute class designed for children K-6th grade. Class is offered in the fall for 6-10 weeks. Opportunity to cheer & perform @ youth football games.
- LYRICAL/MODERN:45/60minute class designed for dancers ages 11+.
- BOYS CLASS: 45 minutes classes offered in hiphop, jazz, tap & ballet.
- TUTUS & TIERRA'S: Open dance time for girls ages 3-10years. Girls come dress up, dance and just be creative.$5 per hour.
CLASS PLACEMENT
ROS determines the proper dance level for each student. Dancers ages 2.5y- 8years will be assigned a class by the director based upon their years of experience. Each student ages 9 & older will recieve a placement level from the director. Dance classes will be offered during the week in all levels and all dance forms. The parents then choose which day and time they wish their child to take class. All classes chosen for your child HAS to meet their LEVEL ASSIGNMENT.

- LEVEL 3= INTERMEDIATE
- LEVEL 4= ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE
- LEVEL 5= ADVANCED
- LEVEL 6= PRE-PROFESSIONAL
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
CLASSICAL BALLET: is a formal, structured form of dance. Ballet is the basic of all types of dance using specific exercises and technique. Various forms taught are Russian, French, Cechetti, Vagnova and R.A.D. Ballet students will achieve greater flexibility, fludity and strength through classes.
POINTE: is an advanced technique offered to advanced ballet students when they achieve good abdominal strength and turn-out. By permission only and offered in the SPIRIT program only.
TAP: teaches rhythmic and synocopated combinations and exercises. ROS teaches various styles of tap including musical theatre, Irish, clogging and traditional tap.
JAZZ: is a technique class using barre exercises, across the floor, isolations and combinations. Various styles are taught including lyrical.
MODERN: is a creative movement technique using ballet and jazz basics.
HIP HOP: is an urban, street style class. ROS includes basic jazz in this class.
MIDDLE EASTERN DANCE: authentic dance of the region. Designed for both children and adults. Great fun & exercise att he same time. BABIE BELLIES is a 45 minute class for 5-10years. TEEN DIVAS is a 60 minute class for 11-17years. ADULT CLASS is for 18years+. BELLY SWEAT is an aerobic conditioning class for adults, 16years+.
ROS OFFERS TWO DANCE PROGRAMS
DANCE SOUL:
A 10-month technique program where regular attendance is required to ensure proper development. Dancers enrolled in this program participate in the spring recital & various venues during the year. This is our regular program designed for the average student who is a recreational student.
SPIRIT A specialized pre-certification program designed for the serious dance student. This 10 month program is offered to dancers 7 years and older. Students will be taught by the Director and guest professional teachers. All dancers interested in taking this course will have to audition (8/16/09 @ 4PM or 8/30/09 @3PM) be interviewed by one of the ROS examiners. The parents of the dancer & dancer will also meet with Examiner and Director at an additional interview to go over the students needs and goals for the upcoming year. Each dancer in the program will recieve more personalized coaching, regular technique assessments, evaluations and have to pass a graded examination at the end of each Dance Session.
